This month’s panel explores the creation of farmers’ markets and why shopping local is so important. Hear from Naja Hayward-Dobson of Sunset Markets, Asia Harold of Forsyth Farmers’ Market, and Cedric Berry and Tony Berry of Berry Farms as they discuss how supporting small farmers, artists, and makers help build a stronger local economy and community.
Naja Hayward-Dobson is an award-winning entrepreneur, author, and Founder of Rainmaker Media & Wellness and The Sunset Markets in Savannah, Georgia. Recognized as an Exceptional Woman in Business and Business Woman of the Year, she helps women turn their expertise into powerful brands and bestselling books. The author of Manuscript to Millions and three other titles, Naja also serves on the Board of the Electric Vehicle Association and inspires audiences worldwide through storytelling and strategy.
Asia Harold is the Executive Director of Forsyth Farmers’ Market, where she has worked for the past four years. A North Carolina native and graduate of Salem College, Asia comes from a farming family and has built her career around strengthening local food systems and improving access to healthy food. Asia‘s work focuses on nutrition equity, SNAP outreach, and produce prescription programs that connect individuals and families with healthy foods while supporting regional farmers. She is passionate about creating a food system that is both accessible and sustainable for everyone.
Berry Farms is a family owned and operated farm that consists of four generations that collectively work together with produce, cattle, and hay production. Their goal is to continue to grow and nurture the land so that not just the Berry family but other families can have access to fresh pasture-raised meats and seasonal produce.
