Jamie and Bobby Deen, the Sons of The Lady and Sons, to Speak at Buy Local Annual Awards Luncheon
SAVANNAH, GA – Buy Local Savannah is proud to welcome Jamie and Bobby Deen to speak at the Annual Awards Luncheon at The Lady and Sons restaurant on January 18th at noon.
Jamie and Bobby will talk about the growth The Lady and Sons has experienced and the phenomenal success they have had in managing their local Savannah business. “It is a wonderful opportunity to have Jamie and Bobby Dean speak to the Buy Local membership,” comments Joe Ippolito, Buy Local Savannah President. “Surely The Lady and Sons is one of the most successful businesses to ever have come from Savannah; there is much we can learn from these boys who were there from the beginning.”
Paula Deen began The Lady and Sons in June of 1989 as a small lunch delivery service. In two years, she and the boys expanded the business into a full-service restaurant before moving it to downtown Savannah in 1996. The restaurant and subsequent cookbooks began to garner regional and national attention creating constant lines of people willing to wait for her famous southern cooking. In 2001, a year before her Food Network debut, Paula purchased the current The Lady and Sons location; they moved into the new 15,000- square foot dining space in November of 2003. The Lady and Sons has been name “International Meal of the Year” by USA Today, Georgia’s Small Business of the Year, and First Runner Up for National Small Business of the Year at the SBA Awards.
The Buy Local Savannah Annual Awards Luncheon is the highlight event of the Buy Local calendar. Awards will be given out in the categories of Advocate of the Year and Business of the Year. The cost to attend is $20 for members and $30 for non-members. RSVP online at www.buylocalsavannah.com or email Joe Ippolito at joe@emarketsouth.com.
